RobbieDarby
Robbie was born in San Antonio, TX, and raised in Sacramento, CA. Named after her father Robert, Robbie was often referred to by her full name. The rhythmical pattern of “Robbie Darby,” was fun to say and therefore memorable by many. With a personality to match, no wonder she was nominated as “Most Likely to Remember” by her high school senior class.

In addition to being ‘memorable’, Robbie enjoyed school and valued her education. From an early age her mother introduced this value and was dedicated to ensuring that her education was always top notch. Therefore, finding the balance between her education and social activities in high school came with ease. Robbie was not only active on her high school soccer team, cheerleading squad, school yearbook (Sports Editor), and class council (Senior Class Vice President), but she was also awarded “Top Scholar Athlete” in both soccer and cheerleading, graduated with honors, and was ranked number seven in her graduating class.

With education still in the forefront, after high school Robbie attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA with a partial scholarship from Guidepost Magazine. During her stay there she was active in Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Class Council, the Dean’s List, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. In her spare time she also volunteered at the Capital Area Mosaic and with Cool Girls, Inc.

Over the summers she spent her time teaching dance at a local YMCA and one summer had the opportunity to attend The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York City. She graduated Cum Lade, with a B.A. in Drama and Dance.
Eager to pursue her career as an actress, Robbie decided that longevity was an important element in achieving this goal and ultimately decided to dedicate even more time and energy in developing her craft. To do so she then attended The University of Texas, Austin (ranked in the Top 10 of Graduate Schools for Theatre in US News & World Report)where she received her MFA in Acting.

As she continues to pursue her passion and calling in life, Robbie anticipates a fulfilling career as an actress on both stage and camera, dancer, voiceover artist, and most importantly educator. In the words of her mother, Robbie is “walking in her destiny,” counting her blessings, and remembering that “to whom much is given, much is required.”
